I haven't updated my blog for several months and during that time, Maddie had her second birthday on June 1st and now, instead of wanting to play all the time, she spends most of her time in the communal garden of my flat. Although she's still nervous of strangers, she's an avid hunter and has squeeaed through the cat flap and presented me with two live birds and numerous stag beatles. Now I love nature but not up that close and personal. Fortunately a lovely friend of mine gifted me with a net which I can use to pick up the poor creatures and return them to the wide open outdoors - well, at least far enough away that Maddie can't find them.
I went on holiday in June and Maddie decided to pack herself in my case so she could come with me.
Unfortunaley, that wasn't possible but she had a lovely time at home with another friend who kindly stayed for the ten days of my absence and spoiled her rotten.

While Maddie is out gallavanting, I have been busy writing and illustrating my latest picture book, which I'm hoping to get published. This isn't part of my phonics series, but is about young twins, Hope and Hayden, who are mad about space travel and want, more than anything, to have their own space adventure. One day Great Uncle Jasper arrives and gives them a gift that enables their dream to come true. Here they are floating over Pluto wondering what will happen when they land.
